Barnet’s oldest established Funeral Directors, J.A. Clark & Son was founded by John Anthony Clark in 1887. Originally a small concern operating from the rear of John Clark’s draper’s and millinery department store, the business quickly grew until the present office in Wood Street, Barnet was established.
In 1983, after 26 years of loyal service, the business was passed on to Charles Denny, the father of the current Managing Director. Today, the company is managed by Susan Denny, alongside her sons Terry and Charles.
“Having joined the company in 1985, I learned every aspect of the industry under the watchful eye of my father, Charles Denny. I believe he taught me well and, together with my family, I have continued his passion and commitment to providing a comprehensive, personal funeral service to families in their time of need.
My eldest son, Terry, has worked with me since 1997 and my youngest son, Charles, since early 2021. Together, we make a strong team. We’re here to listen, to understand your specific needs and circumstances and to guide you through every stage of the funeral process. We treat each funeral individually and make every effort to provide you and your family with a service to reflect your loved one’s life.”
